“Most of All, I Remember…” tm2009

Most of all I remember being super nervous right before the ceremony, and then when I started to walk down the aisle and saw James at the end, all my nerves completely vanished.

I remember our beautiful personalized vows and how at the end of the ceremony, James kissed and hugged me and whispered into my ear how beautiful I looked and how happy I made him.

I remember the quiet 15 minutes James and I spent between the ceremony and the reception alone, just enjoying being married! The staff had set up a little table for us to eat some of the cocktail hour hors d’ourves and we were able to enjoy some quiet time together before the reception started.

I remember the first time I saw the reception ballroom and how blown away I was by how GORGEOUS it looked.

I remember dancing the night away with all my closest girlfriends.

I remember James’ face when he saw for the first time the special garter my aunt had made with his two favorite soccer teams featured. He was so surprised! –Courtney

Some of my clients want to include their dogs at their weddings, but just aren’t sure what to decide. One of my favorite weddings of 2008 included “Dudley,” a beautiful Golden Doodle. With his orchid adorned collar and leash, he brought a lot of fun and laughter to this stunning outdoor wedding. A big thank you to Erin for sharing her thoughts. Happy Anniversary you two!

“Most of All, I Remember…”

“From the moment JP and I started planning our wedding we knew one thing was certain. Our dog, Dudley had to be a part of it. He’s our baby, our buddy, and a huge part of our lives. Many people told me that I was crazy to have such a big dog running around my reception (“your white dress!”, “the food!”), but we never hesitated for a second. I quickly scheduled a babysitter for him and told our florist that he needed to look as pretty as possible for the ceremony. On that day I will never forget how Dudley rested his face into our hands as we said our vows…and then ran off into the bushes after a peacock. It was the perfect comedic relief as our tears of emotion turned into tears of laughter. All through our reception Dudley acted like the guest of honor. He greeted every table, sat right between us at dinner, and even cut a rug on the dance floor. We had the best time knowing that he was there to celebrate with us.

If you love your dog I would definitely incorporate him/her into your wedding. Just make sure that you hire a trustworthy person to “doggysit” during the night. I bribed a tech at our vets’ office with cake and champagne. Also, bring water bowls, treats, or even a loved toy to entertain your dog. My husband’s best friend was the official “ball thrower” of the night and occupied Dudley during group photos. Lastly, have fun with your dog’s decoration. Forget the cliché doggie tuxedo and have your florist can make a collar of flowers or decorate a leash to match your bouquet. You can even have hair flowers made for the smaller gals. So cute! Dogs bring out the best in people and who wouldn’t want the best at your wedding?” –Erin
