Most of all, I remember... This was such an incredible, love-filled celebration for Frances and Jon and their families. It was so special getting to know them and spend time together  at their engagement session, Frances' bridal and then at the wedding and our album meeting with Frances' mom, Susan, in Lockhart, with Frances on the phone in Boston! I can't believe that it has been a year since these two married. The toasts that their friends and loved ones made were a testimony to the character of this couple--their generosity, empathy and kindness were celebrated to the max on June 18, 2016. Happy, happy Anniversary Frances and Jon! We're grateful to have been your photographers and are remembering this amazing time with you!

Most of all, I remember... This couple! How fun it was to photograph two people so deeply in love and so passionate about taking photographs and photography. Bridget and Andrew started off their cocktail hour on the roof of Brazos Hall, overlooking downtown Austin. They had clean modern furniture paired with gorgeous florals, some of Bridget's studio B&W bridal portraits,  family wedding photos and their favorite personal photos displayed. After their romantic last dance alone, they dashed through the sparklers, ending with a kiss, as their dearest friends and family looked on.

Most of all, I remember… John and I both loved the music at our wedding ceremony. It was so special and intimate to have my aunt play the piano and to have my cousin sing an original and extremely memorable solo for us. The Texas Choral Concert ended the ceremony with a classic acoustic rendition of Little Drummer Boy, which really set the tone for our Christmas themed reception.

Santa was really just the icing on the cake at our reception! I loved seeing how surprised our guests were to see elves and Santa himself appear with full Christmas gear and cheer for us all.  Watching our guests go crazy over the North Pole and taking turns sitting on Santa's lap, was hilarious. We had so much fun indulging in all of the tasty winter-themed treats, especially Santa's milk shakes.

After the seated dinner, the band did a great job moving everyone to the dance floor. They delivered a power-house performance and even held a dance-off competition for our guests. It was so fun to see everyone let loose and dance. John and I ended the competition with our own little dance-off, which we still laugh about. One of my most memorable moments was the last dance of the evening. Real snow fell during the last song creating a magical and romantic winter wonderland. It was the perfect ending to a dreamy evening and I felt like John and I were the only one's in the entire ballroom!

Hughes & Phillips

Most of all, I remember... Cameron and I were neighborhood friends and attended elementary school together at Midland Christian.  At the ripe age of five (or six?), Cameron became my first crush.  He filled my head with dreams of wedded bliss and all that goes along with the idea of what being married is like to a five year-old.  Our time together ended all too soon, however, as my family was transferred (the first of many moves) for my dad's career.  Cameron and I were too young to stay in touch, but every now and then, my parents and I would drive thru our old neighborhood and it always made me think of my "little friend", Cameron Phillips, and I would wonder how he was doing and what he was up to.

Flash forward two decades later to Spring of 2012: I had just moved back to Midland from NYC where I had spent the last two and a half years enjoying life in "The City".  Cameron and I happened to attend the same service at Stonegate Fellowship one evening where we saw each other and instantly the attraction and sparks I felt at age six still flew at age 26.  We started dating and it didn't take long before we discovered that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. What can we say, "when you know, you know...you know?!"

Our wedding day was filled with every bit of fantasy and happiness I imagined it would be. It was a blur, but it was absolutely perfect.  Never in my wildest dreams would I have predicted the events that have unfolded over the year; but they have, and for that I am forever thankful.
