Abblitt & Gaston

Most of all, I remember... It was special to have a moment alone with my dad as we peered around the corner of the bridal room at the church, watching the wedding party walk down the aisle. Because Parker and I chose to stick with tradition and not see each other before the wedding, there was so much anticipation as the doors to the sanctuary opened and I could see Parker for the first time. It was emotional, and I was so glad that we had decided to add a hymn to the service at the last minute. It allowed Parker and I a couple of minutes to regroup, but it was also such a powerful experience to be able to look back at the audience and see all of our family and friends standing together in support and celebration of our marriage. I know that throughout our lives together, being able to reflect on that feeling will help Parker and me through both the good times and the bad.

Parker and I love to dance so spending the night on the dance floor with our friends and family and the surprise fireworks exit that my mom planned are also some of my favorite memories from the day.

Bond & Bloomingdale

Most of all, I remember... James was traveling to Dallas often for work, so a mutual friend suggested that he and I meet since I was living there and that the two of us could have dinner, go have a drink, and get to know one another. We started emailing a bit, but the night we were supposed to meet a tornado warning was issued. The sirens put James in his hotel bathtub, while I had cocktails on the patio with my mom and we watched the storm roll in.

Later we were both in New York at the same time, but we managed to miss each other again. Finally I had an itch to move back to Los Angeles when I got a job offer at a fashion PR firm there and I decided to take it. I told James I would have to meet him on his own turf some day soon.

I moved to LA on May 30, 2011 and on June 7th James picked me up for a dinner date at the Sunset Tower. We finally met in person for the first time. The rest, as they say, is history!

Happy Anniversary Chandler & Franklin!

Most of all, I remember... Franklin and I were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend. I went for a free meal and nothing else, and came home after the date and told my mom that I was going to marry him. It really was love at first sight… And I thought it didn’t exist! Two years later, Franklin took me to the place where we went as a part of our first date... to the bar at the historic Driskill Hotel in Austin! We were supposed to meet up with his sister, who said that she was running late, so we sat on the couch in the bar and just talked. It was such a relaxing moment. So you can imagine how surprised I was when he looked at me and said "was this the one you wanted?" and just flashed me the ring... It didn't hit me that he was actually proposing to me at that point. I reached for the ring to see it, and he pulled back saying that he needed to do it the right way. He pulled out the ring box and began moving towards the floor and then it hit me--It was actually happening! I IMMEDIATELY began to cry as he got on one knee!!! The whole bar (which was filled with SXSW go-ers) started cheering and clapping for us!! After about five minutes of crying, hugging and "oh-my-gosh"-ing, I realized I hadn't actually said yes yet!! (which I immediately made sure of!!) I had no idea that any of this was planned, of course, which is why I was wearing a sequined top and jeans!! (I thought I was going to a comedy show for SXSW and we were meeting friends at the bar for drinks beforehand!) After the proposal, we went to the Austin Club for dinner with our parents. We talked about how we were eating at the place where my parents had celebrated their wedding reception, and after we put in an order for dessert, my mom suggested that we walk upstairs to the ballroom to look at it as a reception venue for us! When I opened the door to the ballroom, all our friends and family were there to celebrate with us!! It was a perfectly magical night and I could not be happier! I GET TO MARRY MY BEST FRIEND!! I'm the luckiest girl on Earth!!!

Altemus & Granger

Most of all, I remember... When I look back at our wedding day there are three wedding memories that stand out the most in my mind. To begin with, I am so happy that we decided to do a “first look” before the ceremony. It was fun to have a moment to ourselves before standing at the altar in front of our friends and family. Next, was our first dance. Roy and I didn’t take dance lessons (we absolutely needed to), so our first dance was pretty funny and awkward. This is a moment that I am so happy was captured in photos and not on video! The last memory that stands out is the fun we had at our reception. Roy and I loved the band, Icehouse, and had such a fun time dancing with our friends. One of the highlights of the night was when my sister took the stage to play the saxophone and sing a few songs!
