Penick & Reading

Most of all, I remember...Marcus and I decided not to see each other before the ceremony, so the moment when I began walking down the aisle meant so much to me. I had dreamed about it since I was a little girl, and then, that moment had finally arrived and the perfect person for me was waiting at the end of aisle! It made the whole experience so emotional for me.

When the ceremony was over, we quickly got into our get away car, and headed to the reception site at the ranch. Before we knew it, it was time for us to walk across the bridge to be announced as “Mr. and Mrs.” I'll never forget this because it was the first time after the ceremony that we were able to see our friends and family and really share our happiness with them. It was kind of a “Yeah, we did it! Now let’s celebrate!” kind of feeling.

Our first dance was to “Kissed You Goodnight” by Gloriana. We had taken dance lessons, but our dance was not choreographed. I remember how awesome Marcus did during the first dance! Now, looking back at the photos, I absolutely adore seeing the faces of our loved ones watching on as we danced. Their faces say it all and they were overcome with joy for us.

But most of all I remember the feeling Marcus and I had being surrounded by so much love and support on our wedding day. It was amazing to look down the candle lit tables and see all the smiling faces so full of love and happiness for us on our wedding day.

Cook & Butt Wedding; One Year Ago, Today!

Most of all, I remember... Howard and I were an unlikely couple to begin with and we found each other at the most unlikely time in our lives. On paper, we did not make sense at all. But our friendship, our connection, and our love for one another was so extraordinary that it could not be broken. We fought a lot of forces together and also on our own. But every step of the way we made the right decisions for ourselves personally and we always did "the right thing". In the end, and to our surprise, we ended up together. In my life I have read about love like this, but did not believe that it really existed. I was way too independent and strong to even want it. It is a scary feeling, but Howard is the best friend I have ever known or could ever hope for. Howard has shown me what unconditional love feels like. Howard has made my life extraordinary and I don't want to live a day without him in this world.

Looking back a year later, there are three memories that stand out in my mind from our wedding weekend. First are the speeches at the rehearsal dinner. They were so intimate and personal. Every speech given brought tears to Howard and I. It was a very emotional night for us. The second is when my daughter, Audrey, grabbed my hand during the ceremony. The last is looking up at Howard during the ceremony and realizing how hard we had worked together to get to this moment. Our story, our love, is truly a fairy tale.

McGuyer & Hutson - Part 2

Most of all, I remember... Looking back on our wedding day there are so many wonderful memories that will always stay with us. However, I especially remember our marriage ceremony. Looking into Scott’s eyes as we said our vows to each other, before our guests and before the Lord, it was such a surreal and wonderful moment. The weather we enjoyed on our wedding day, will also always be remembered. It was such a beautiful day and we were so blessed to have such gorgeous weather! When we were announced Mr. and Mrs. Hutson upon the arriving to our reception was also so wonderful. I loved hearing my new name and that will always be a great memory! Finally, I know we will both always remember dancing the night away with each other, our closest friends and family.

McGuyer & Hutson - Part 1

Most of all, I remember... "I knew I wanted to marry Brooke from the very beginning. Her beauty and amazing smile immediately stood out, and it didn't take long to discover that she is also classy, fun, talented, has a heart of gold, and is my best friend. This was the girl I had waited my whole life for."

"After dating for several months, Scott and I became best friends and fell in love. He is a wonderful person inside and out, and I continue to thank God for bringing him into my life! I have always known I wanted to marry Scott because I couldn't imagine spending the rest of my life without him.

Scott proposed to me one Sunday, after I had been away with my girl friends. I walked into the back door of my house and I was greeted by a trail of rose petals. The petals led me to the living room where my husband to be was waiting for me. There were rose petals, flowers, and candles everywhere and Scott was dressed in a suit. As soon as I walked into the living room, he dropped to one knee and proposed to me. It was so romantic and sweet! I was even more surprised because he had told me he was also going out of town on a fishing trip, so seeing him and the romantic proposal were wonderful surprises!"

Penick & Bell

Most of all, I remember... I have always been told you know it is true love if you can let it go and it comes back to you, but I would never take such a risk--that's just not in me! So when Steven proposed to me on a beach, all alone under a tent where we spent the night, I, of course, said "Yes!" It was so romantic.

When our wedding day arrived, I will never forget the beauty of the day, the sunlight, the warmth of the summer wind. It was the most perfect. One of the most memorable things from our wedding day was when a huge spider crawled up my dress and Steven saw it in between the tulle. Jenn, Jim, and Steven were all trying to get it out of my dress! Also, our first dance stands out to me. We had so much fun working on it together, and after all this time I can still put the song on and Steven literally remembers every step to our first dance.

Married life is wonderful! Steven and I have always felt married since we were together in college, so it doesn't feel that much different. We are both faculty at the university we met at. It is so much fun to call him when I am done with my class and say, hey I'm walking by where we fell in love, want to meet me at the spot where we first kissed??!! I know our adventure is just beginning. I am really excited for the next chapter in our love story. One important lesson I have learned is how blessed/fortunate/lucky I am to have found a person that is my one and only true love in this life.
