Most of all, I remember... Before our wedding ceremony, my bridesmaids and I were tucked away in the church library of Westminster Presbyterian.  My sisters and my mom helped me put on my wedding dress...the women dearest to my heart were preparing me for Mark, my groom.  My mom tied my sash into a bow, just as she has done for me all my life.  Then, all of my bridesmaids, my mom, and I gathered in a circle and they prayed over me.  It was so sweet to hear their hearts poured out before God on my behalf.

Mark and I chose to have communion served during our ceremony.  Communion is our physical reminder of Jesus' sacrifce to reconcile us to the Father.  Communion unites the Body of Christ.  With unity and reconciliation being so central to marriage, we wanted them depicted at our wedding.  Mark and I took communion with our parents and then prayed with them as songs of praise filled the sanctuary and our loved ones took part in communion.  When we finished praying, we turned and watched our family and friends come up to be fed by the Lord's supper.  It was so sweet.  We were really able to embrace the moment.  My heart was overwhelmed by the love of God and the presence of our loved ones.

I will never forget dancing with Mark and my family toward the end of the reception.  We knew the night was coming to an end and we wanted to soak up every last bit of joy together.  We sang to our favorite Motown songs and danced and laughed. I was so happy and so full of love!

Most of all, I remember... I am not sure if there is one specific moment that made me realize that I wanted to marry Matthew. I am not a girl that always had boyfriends or wanted one, I was fine on my own. But then Matthew and I went on a blind date and things changed. I knew he was special when he blessed the meal on our first date, when he would stay up to the wee hours of the night talking to me, (the night owl), and when we were so quickly able to say I love you. He is the most selfless and caring man, how could I not want to marry him?!

We are both so thankful for everyone who was there to celebrate with us and witness us make a commitment to God and each other! It was a perfect weekend full of family friends and love!
